NBC’s Grosse Pointe Garden Society has been filming in Georgia, with production continuing under the code name “GPGS.” The series follows four suburban garden club members whose lives are turned upside down by a shared secret: a murder. According to the logline:
“Four members of a suburban garden club find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief, and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above.”
The trailer reveals the characters burying a body in the club’s garden, attempting to resume normalcy afterward. However, their secrets and dissatisfaction with their lives create cracks that threaten to unravel everything. A narrator ominously sets the tone: “Here’s what they don’t tell you when you join a garden club: to make a garden grow, something has to die.”
The main cast features Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Birdie, a successful author juggling a chaotic life that conceals deeper struggles. Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder) plays Catherine, a mother of two unhappy in her marriage who seeks satisfaction elsewhere. AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries) stars as Alice, a high school English teacher whose ambitions have been derailed. Ben Rappaport (For the People) portrays Ben, a divorced father working at a gardening store.
Additional cast members include Matthew Davis (Legacies) as Joel, a police officer grappling with burnout, and Alexander Hodge as Doug, Alice’s husband, whose own dreams have long since faded.
The series was created and written by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, who serve as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Casey Kyber.
Grosse Pointe Garden Society debuts on NBC on Sunday, February 23. Episodes will also be available for streaming on Peacock following their broadcast. Watch the trailer below:
