A Landmark Production Nears Completion

Since its beginning, Stranger Things has filmed in Georgia, using the state’s diverse landscapes to bring the fictional town of Hawkins to life. For the final season, Georgia has once again provided the perfect backdrop for the show’s unique mix of supernatural mystery and small-town nostalgia.  Stranger Things has filmed across the state from filming locations in Rome, Georgia to Jackson, Georgia. “Hawkins  Lab” continues to attract fans to the Emory Briarcliff location where they frequently visit for pictures (even though it’s technically trespassing).

Currently, the production is nearing its end, with filming set to conclude in January 2025. This chapter will mark the end of an era, both for the Stranger Things cast and crew and for Georgia’s contribution to the series’ worldwide success.

A Cinematic Final Season

The final eight episodes promise to deliver a truly cinematic experience. Cast member Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley, previously hinted that each episode would feel like “a movie,” with episode lengths expected to exceed two hours each. Fans can look forward to an epic conclusion to the series, with Georgia playing a central role in bringing the massive scale and intensity of Season 5 to life.

As the trailer stirs excitement and speculation, Stranger Things fans now await the next big release—the season itself, slated to premiere in mid to late 2025. With filming in Georgia nearly complete, this final journey with the Hawkins gang is set to bring the story full circle, giving longtime fans a thrilling, emotional farewell.
