“Tulsa King” Season 2 Trailer Released: What to Expect from the Upcoming Season

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for the second season of its crime-drama series, “Tulsa King.” Sylvester Stallone returns to his role as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a seasoned Mafia capo sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to establish a new criminal operation. The trailer provides a first look at what’s to come as Manfredi continues to build his empire in the heartland, facing new challenges and adversaries.

One of the notable elements in the trailer is a new song titled “Get By” from country artist Jelly Roll, who will also make a cameo appearance this season. The trailer itself sets a serious tone, with Stallone delivering the line, “Nothing resolves a conflict like a good smack in the chops,” hinting at the ongoing struggles Manfredi will face in his quest to solidify his power.

Changes Behind the Scenes and On Set

Season 1 of “Tulsa King” was overseen by showrunner Terence Winter, but Season 2 will take a different approach, with a collaborative ensemble of writer/producers stepping in. This shift could result in a fresh direction for the series, potentially introducing new dynamics and plot twists as the story progresses.

Another significant change for Season 2 is the production’s relocation from Oklahoma to Georgia. The series was filmed at Eagle Rock Studios in Norcross under the code name “King Street” and other locations around Atlanta, including Milton and Gainesville. This move has garnered attention, with fans and industry insiders speculating on how the new location might influence the show’s aesthetic and narrative.

Recap of Season 1

For those catching up, Season 1 followed Dwight Manfredi after his release from a 20-year prison sentence. Despite his loyalty to the Mafia, the power structure within his family had shifted during his incarceration, leaving him with little choice but to start anew in Tulsa. There, he assembled a group of local misfits and began building a criminal enterprise, dabbling in various illicit activities, from extorting marijuana dispensaries to controlling parking lot nitrous balloon sales.

The new season promises to delve deeper into Manfredi’s journey as he navigates the complexities of maintaining and expanding his influence in a city far removed from the Mafia’s traditional strongholds. With the trailer hinting at fresh conflicts and new foes, viewers can expect the same gritty storytelling that characterized the first season, albeit with new challenges for the characters to overcome.

Looking Ahead

“Tulsa King” Season 2 is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, September 15, 2024. With the series now shifting its production to Georgia and a collaborative creative team in place, it will be interesting to see how these changes impact the story and its execution. As the season unfolds, it will reveal whether Manfredi can continue to thrive in his new environment or if the pressures of his criminal lifestyle will catch up to him.

For now, fans can catch a glimpse of what lies ahead in the newly released trailer, which hints at a season filled with tension, conflict, and the relentless pursuit of power.
