Filming is underway in Atlanta for The Good Daughter, a new Peacock series based on the novel by bestselling author Karin Slaughter. Production began in March 2025 under the code name GAMMA and is expected to continue through June. Background casting is being done by Rose Locke Casting. According to the Griffin Daily News, scenes have already been filmed at Griffin City Hall and other local spots in the Griffin area.
Another Karin Slaughter Series
This marks Slaughter’s television writing debut, as she adapts her own book for the screen. The series centers on Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, two sisters who have spent nearly thirty years trying to rebuild their lives after a violent event shattered their family. When a new crime occurs in the town of Pikeville, Charlotte—now a lawyer—witnesses the aftermath firsthand. As the case unfolds, long-buried secrets come to light.
Who is in It?

The series stars Rose Byrne (Physical, Platonic, Bridesmaids) and Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, The Bold Type). They’re joined by Brendan Gleeson, Harper Steele, Paula Malcomson, and Jake McDorman. Steph Green is directing multiple episodes.
Rose Byrne’s first major acting role came in 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones when she played Padme’s (Natalie Portman) handmaiden, Dorme. Bryne apparently completely forgot that she appeared in a Star Wars movie until 2022.

Karin Slaughter is no stranger to screen adaptations. Her Will Trent series was turned into an ABC drama set in Atlanta, and Netflix adapted Pieces of Her into a miniseries starring Toni Collette.
The number of productions filming in and around Atlanta continues to rise. In addition to The Good Daughter, other recent productions currently filming are Will Ferrell’s Judgment Day, By Any Means with Mark Wahlberg, and the John Madden biopic, Madden, starring Nicholas Cage.
